Kate Reilly
Animals have been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether providing hands-on care or leading dedicated teams, my journey began at the University of Kansas, where I earned a degree in Organismal Biology. From there, I worked as a Wildlife Rehabilitator at the Kansas City Zoo, gaining invaluable, species-specific expertise in animal health and native wildlife behavior.
Before founding Calico Pet Sitting, Ltd., I served as the Executive Director of an animal and environmental advocacy non-profit. During my tenure, our team successfully championed and passed the Colorado Pesticide Notification Sign Law, requiring commercial applicators to post clear warning signs after pesticide treatments—a vital measure that has protected millions of children and pets from accidental exposure.
When it comes to hands-on care, safety and peace of mind are my top priorities. I am a Certified Fear Free Pet Sitter and Certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. With a lifetime of experience, I am fully equipped to address any situation that may arise during a pet sitting visit or dog walk.
My dedication to animal welfare extends far beyond the professional sphere. Outside of work, I’ve volunteered with the Humane Society and wildlife rehabilitation centers, fostered diverse species, and worked extensively with feral cats through TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs. Combined with a lifetime of loving my own pets, this lifelong commitment means your pets will always receive the expert, compassionate care they deserve.

My path to professional pet care began well before Colorado became my home. In Hoboken, New Jersey, I spent years immersed in animal advocacy and hands-on care—working closely with foster dogs, managing local feral cat colonies, and caring for my own dogs, cats, and birds. Animals have always been at the center of my world, and that foundation shapes everything I do today.
With over 10 years of experience administering pet medication, I am skilled in giving insulin injections, drawing blood on cats, administering subcutaneous fluids, pills, tablets, creams, and tinctures. This clinical competency means pets with medical needs receive the same expert, attentive care as every other member of the family.
For the past decade, our mission has been to elevate the standard of pet care. Calico Pet Sitting, Ltd. belongs to two professional pet sitting organizations: Pet Sitters International and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. We go beyond simply walking and watching pets—we deliver a premium level of care that keeps your furry family members thriving, while giving you absolute peace of mind.
